PETER B. HARNETT, MS, MPH, CIH, CSP, FAIHA PRINCIPAL
Mr. Harnett brings an ethic of dependable, consistent, high-quality work executed with professionalism and integrity. Mr. Harnett is a scientist with more than 35 years of experience as a health and safety consultant, general and occupational toxicologist, and research biologist. He holds two Master's degrees in environmental sciences/toxicology and occupational health from the University of Texas Health Science Center, and a B.A. in biology from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Harnett is a Diplomate with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He is a past member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Laboratory Health and Safety Committee, and the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and member of the AIHA Opioids Working Group.
Mr. Harnett's projects include workplace and environmental exposure assessments, consumer product health-based risk assessments, health and safety program development, toxicology assessments, occupational safety training programs, biosafety evaluations, health and safety workplace compliance audits, product stewardship evaluations, expert witness services, and scientific litigation support. Mr. Harnett enjoys researching issues related to workplace health and safety and has made presentations and published papers on aspects of this work. Mr. Harnett is recognized by his peers for his career contributions to occupational health and industrial hygiene as a Fellow of the AIHA.
Mr. Harnett has over 35 years of relevant experience in the field of industrial hygiene, occupational/environmental health and safety, and occupational toxicology. He is an accomplished EHS professional, trainer and presenter with specific expertise in chemical, biological, laboratory safety; disaster response; workplace inspections; and has a strong background in chemical risk assessments, chemical safety programs, audit, and project management. Most recently, Mr. Harnett was the Leidos SERAS EHS Manager/ Health and Safety Officer supporting EPA's Environmental Response Team. Previously, Mr. Harnett managed government and private sector consulting services providing occupational and environmental health, toxicology, biosafety, and EHS training for 30 years with his company, Counsel in Occupational and Environmental Health, Inc. (COEH).and prior to this was employed as a consultant with ICF Corporation and ENVIRON for 6 years.
MARY E. GREENHALGH, CIH, SENIOR INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST
Ms. Greenhalgh is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) at COEH with over 20 years of experience in
the industrial hygiene field. Her technical skills and thorough dedication ensure the delivery of work
products of the highest quality for all her clients. Areas of expertise include regulatory analysis and
compliance activities, exposure assessments, health and safety program development and
implementation, workplace compliance audits, and scientific litigation support. Ms. Greenhalgh has a
strong background in OSHA regulatory compliance issues, having previously been employed as an
OSHA Compliance Safety and Health Officer. She has also worked in clinical and research laboratories.
